Lavender Graduation This Thursday
You are invited to attend the Fourth Annual Lavender Graduation on April 24, 2014 at 4:30pm in the PNC Room of the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex hosted by The University LGBT Commission and the President’s Commission on the Status of Women. Your attendance is a great way to show your support and celebrate the accomplishments of your fellow students at IUP.
Lavender Graduation is a celebration that recognizes IUP’s LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer) community and ally graduates. Graduating students can request to participate in Lavender Graduation by registering through the safe zone website at www.iup.edu/safezone. This includes graduate and undergraduate students. Share the attached flyer with anyone you think will be interested.
Please note that Candace Gingrich will be the speaker at this year’s lavender graduation. Candace is an IUP alum who has been a long time activist for LGBTQ community. She gained national attention when her brother Newt Gingrich became Speaker of the House.
