Update from LGBTQ students across the state

Hello everyone,

As many of you may know, IUP Pride Alliance is a member organization in the Pennsylvania Student Equality Coalition. Membership in this coalition, allows us as IUP students to interact with other students on campuses in our region. More importantly, we are able to unite with students from across the commonwealth to advocate for changes in Harrisburg that directly affect PA youth.

The leaders of PSEC are now working to compile weekly updates on the events and campaigns led by youth in our areas. The goal is to make a close knit community of leaders who support each other’s events and are informed of the issues that effect us. IUP Pride Alliance will continue to keep you updated on ways for us to actively participate in opportunities for activism by including these weekly updates in our minutes and reminder emails.

If it has not been made explicitly clear before, Pride Alliance would like to thank each and every one of you for your interest in the queer community on campus and your support for LGBT students across the state.

Update: Welcoming New PSEC Member Organizations

PSEC has welcomed two new member organizations into the coalition family this month, Lock Haven University GSA and Out@UArts at the University of the Arts. We are thrilled to welcome these groups and expand our student movement. The Coordinating Committee is currently reviewing newly submitted membership applications from SQuAD at Muhlenberg College and the GSA at Delaware Valley College. If you know of LGBTQ student organizations that are looking to join the coalition please let them know that they can apply on the PSEC website here.
