World AIDS Day and the End-of-the-Year Holiday Gathering
I hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving break and are ready to work through these last two weeks. This Thursday will the last Pride Alliance meeting of the semester where we will do a fun activity known as Gender Gumby to explore the differences between gender, sexual orientation, and gender expression.
This Saturday, from 4-8pm at the Lutheran Campus Center, IUP Pride Alliance is hosting an End-of-the-Year Holiday Gathering. Come relax and play games before finals begin and we head home for winter break. Planned activities include a white elephant gift exchange for those who wish to participate, learning to use a Dradle, and other holiday related games. Food will be served potluck style so bring a dish to share as you are able. Guests and allies are welcome!
Finally, we’d like to share that today is World AIDS Day. As the National World AIDS Day falls during Thanksgiving Recess, The Center for Health and Well-being will celebrate World AIDS Day on Tuesday, December 3, 2013.
They are encouraging students to acknowledge World AIDS Day by:
· Wearing red on Tuesday, December 3, 2013
· Wearing a red ribbon during the month of December
· Posting information on your social media accounts
· Encouraging your friends, family, and loved ones to get tested for HIV
We hope to see you wearing red! Good luck to you all with the remainder of your classes.
