The Pass Act

Hello Everyone!

On Friday, Sept 21st The Pennsylvania Safe Schools Act (The PASS ACT) was introduced on to the House floor in Harrisburg. This Bill addresses the issues of bullying, harassment, cyberbullying and how these incidents will be reported to the Department of Education.

Members of Pride and other students in LGBTQA groups across the state had the opportunity to go Harrisburg this past Tuesday with The Pennsylvania Student Equality Coalition (PSEC) to help introduce this bill and meet with many State Representatives.  There was an overwhelming good response and with in a couple of days the bill had numerous co-sponsors!  This is a momentous leap forward for our community as Pennsylvania takes action to protect it’s students and give Everyone an equal and safe environment to learn.

We encourage everyone to contact your State Representative and tell them the importance of Safe Schools legislation and to vote YES to this Bill!
